In this current body of work, Sara explores the intermixture of nature and geometry. Taken as a whole, the world of plants is wild, organic, at times chaotic, but as we take a closer look
we find complex geometry in the growth patterns of flowers and plants. Organized repetition, brilliant architecture, and vibrant color
reveal themselves. This set of ceramic objects are examples of my interpretation of this fusion at odds. Applying intuition instead of a scientific approach, Sara uses what is at hand to observe, build, reassemble and rejoin. Simple geometric forms and shapes are thrown on the potter’s wheel, cut into pieces and fused into new objects in various hand-building techniques resulting in ceramic pieces that are organic and alive. What you see here is the result of Sara"s interpretation, a new imagined species translated into ceramic objects in joyful color and form.
